How Can We Create A Healthy Routine That Does Not Cause Pressure During Lock Down?
Last week I wrote about the books that I re-read during lock down and got lots of inspiring emails from some of you. One of them gave me inspiration about this week’s topic 🙏🏼 Carmitti, thanks for your encouraging and heart-warming email, your sharing made me write this newsletter 🙂
How can we create a healthy routine that does not cause pressure during lock down?
1. What got you here won’t get you there
Who feels that the routines that you used to do are not working anymore? Maybe you always wanted to do yoga at home, but now somehow it does not help you to relax your body. Finally, you have more time to do meditation, but the current one does not help you to tune in? Same here! Most of the routines that helped me are not enough right now. My soul, my body and my mind is craving for something else.
We need to realize that what got us here,
won't get us there.
I learned this phrase when I was doing my executive MBA, it is actually the name of a well-known book. To be honest, I have never read this book (and you know how I love my books, this one was not for me) However I loved the quote immediately! It reminds me everything in this world is constantly changing.
Right now, we are facing the biggest change of our lifetime, as you all know it is caused by Covid-19. We need to adapt to this situation and we are seeking for new routines that can help us to improve our well-being. In my first 2 weeks of lock down, I was happy to be back at home, than I started working with lock down, none of my routines helped me to ground, and calm, this is how our last webinar about root chakra was born! After that, I started to explore new things that make me feel balanced.
2. If you never try you will never know!
There is only one way to realize what new routines will make you happy; TRIAL and ERROR. You can try a couple of alternatives in order to find the one that gives you joy. I spent the last 2 years creating a healthy at home yoga practice and no matter what I did, it is not what I need during lock down, my body really needs to move! First 2 weeks I resisted and forced myself to feel and then I gave up and asked myself what I actually wanted, what my body craved.
Moreover, I realized I do not want to calm my body, I want to move! Staying at home and having lack of space makes me anxious deep inside, I need to move and I started DANCING at home! No routine, no teacher, depending on my mood I practice dance fit videos and stayed with the ones I liked! I want to sweat and move and channel through dance. And I look ridiculous, yes I felt embarrassed in the beginning because of my flexibility, that all passed and it became the funnest part of my day! I am also hearing that many people started yoga practice for the first time, so do whatever works for you!
Usually what you need comes to your heart, you know deep inside but instead of listening to our heart, we listen to our mind. This time is a perfect opportunity to listen to our intuition more than ever. Over the last 2 years, I have been channeling and working with energy almost 5 days a week, now I want to do it every day with various approaches. I also found out that I actually like working with ascended masters lately. I am able to hear them better than ever and they told me to start to practicing Akashic records, and I just surrendered.
It was a call that I have been ignoring for some time, it was so real I remember one day in a corporate meeting, my colleague who is a County Lead looked at me and asked if I read Akashic records 🙂 ahahaha, I kindly smiled and thought ‘what a weird guy, this is a business meeting not a session’, now I know why. After deciding to work on it, I received a newsletter about Akashic records! Miracles are always there! I’ve no idea where this journey will take me, so I’m just enjoying the ride for my soul… You need to ask yourself:
What does your body want?
What does you mind want?
What does your soul want?
Then, pick the one that you feel most deeply! If you don’t like it after trying, just try the next one 🙂
3. Be gentle and flexible; let’s change the word routine to joy, peace and fun time!
Following routines can be easier when your day is separated in various physical places. Being constantly at home for work, sport, breakfast, lunch, dinner, sleep, watching a movie, meditating, reading a book… it’s simply too much! However, I have to admit that it is an opportunity to work from home, less distraction, less travels, less noise. I started to change my routines to fully flexible hours, somedays I want to start my day with meditation; sometimes I do it at night. Sometimes in the middle of the day, I start jumping and dancing and to be honest it is working! I am trying to add in to my day some time for joy, peace and fun! And even with those, some days I am just anxious and angry, I used to spend more time to understand why…Recently I just feel it, voice it and dance it out 🙂 I am hearing it from everyone, you are not alone! We can lose our temper easily for the noise, light or dishes, if you have been feeling guilty about your temper, changing your routine and exploring new things will ease the process!
