The Single Major Issue That I Had To Overcome To Stop Procrastinating

it-6.jpg

It took me so long to start sending newsletters after launching the website. I had people in the list, consistent clients who were asking when I would start sharing insights... I have all the content to talk about mindfulness, energy, healing.

However, somehow I kept procrastinating, using the excuses; I am too busy, I don’t have time, I am a bit sick now, this week's work is crazy, I have family issues… The list goes on and on, sound familiar?

Whenever I decided to move on and start my newsletter, I realised I would manifest one of these excuses immediately. The week my boss asked me to do some otherwise unplanned travel, I got sick, I needed to do urgent government related paperwork… So my friends, PAIN is REAL, I really had those issues…

I prioritised building my business, reaching out to new people. I was blessed to work with many people, ready to go part-time in my corporate job, so kept postponing this more!

Finally, I decided to tune in, do some major healing work on myself, and guess what I found as the major blockage: FEAR of BEING JUDGED! What will they think about me? How will they react? People will judge… and where this is coming from? My Childhood. How I was raised in my culture; what would the neighbours say? What would others think? You need to be proper, successful, and bright all the time… So it was comfortable for me to delay, to hide…

Realising the major fear is of course easy during healing sessions, so you may ask ‘how can I find out what the real fear is by myself?'

The answer is simple, you need to tune into your inner voice, your inner wisdom. Your soul is wise and we have all the answers within us. However, we are so detached from our soul in our daily lives, especially if we have a busy work life…

Here are my top 3 Tips to TUNE in Your Inner Voice by yourself!

I use them all the time and all my clients know how useful they are (check testimonials to see how others did!)

1. Meditate

Meditation is an approach to training the mind, similar to the way that fitness is an approach to training the body. So many scientific studies show the benefits of meditation. But many meditation techniques exist — so how do you learn how to meditate? It’s extremely difficult for a beginner to sit for hours and think of nothing or have an “empty mind.” I have collected some meditation tips that helped my journey the most (2nd newsletter alert!)

In general, the easiest way to begin meditating is by focusing on the breath and use a guided meditation to help you to calm the mind. After some time, believe me, you just ask for divine guidance to guide you and you hear the inner voice!

2. Journal

When I have strong emotions such as anger or disappointment or when I have too many ideas, I use journaling instead of meditation. The first page is usually the ego and shallow issues. However, during the second page, my unconscious mind takes the lead and the real staff comes up. I am always amazed to see how it works and the things I realise when I finish. The best thing is, you can do it anywhere and it is free!

3. Walk

I start walking to calm my mind in 2013 after a psychology session. Since than I have been walking 3-4 times a week, everywhere I travel! My therapist explained the scientific facts on the brain and how walking can help you to get clear on your thoughts. The benefits on the health is clear with research, however the benefits on the soul is not widely researched yet. Next time when you feel depressed, when you procrastinate, just take an easy walk, you will be amazed by the energy shift.

Those 3 things are so simple but we forget to do them in our daily lives. Stay tuned for newsletters coming up deep diving in to each of these 3 topics!

I want to finish with one of my favourite quotes. Pain is real my friends. I hope you find the courage not to choose suffering!

With Love,
Gül
