Is time with your family triggering? How we can heal family ties

I've been visiting my family over the last week 🥰

It is amazing to be back home — enjoying the food, the sea, and sharing laughter and tears with my loved ones.

Through my self-work, I’ve started to understand my parents more deeply. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not fully healed, and there are still many things that trigger me. But I've realized that the more healing and mindfulness tools I use, the better our relationship gets.

We carry so much from the past. It all changes when you start to reframe those experiences. We can’t forget what happened, and the aim is not to justify, but to change the inner dialogue:

👉 “why did this happen to me, poor me”

👉 “my mum did this to me, my dad that to me”

👉 “I would be better if this happened, now it is too late”

It is possible to change this inner dialog, I have witnessed it with hundreds of people.  I can say this BIG and BOLD, the answer is in simplicity:

❤️ When you understand how your struggles helped shape who you are, you start to let go of heavy feelings.

❤️ When you realize your parents had their own issues and did their best, you start to have more compassion.

❤️ When you accept that you can choose the life you want each day with your actions instead of playing blame games, you initiate transformation.

If you want to start working on yourself and change your judgmental inner voice, I have a book suggestion for you. Summer is here—the best time to read by the beach, during travels, or sitting in a park. You can start with this book...
