Bring Mindfulness To Your Workspace

Last week, I had the chance to visit the beautiful Nordic city of Stockholm to deliver a workshop. It was my first time there and I really enjoyed the cozy vibes found in every corner.

I visited the Amazon office and we practiced some mindfulness tools together. Participants experienced:

  • Practical tools to find balance during their busy work lives

  • Visualization Exercise to find their desires

  • 2 Live Guided Meditations for the topics of forgiveness

  • Powerful exercises to put theory into practice

Why 'putting theory into practice' matters

Mindfulness is a fancy word that can help employees navigate the stress in their busy work lives. However, if you don’t put theory into practice it is just that, a fancy word. In the workshop, my main focus is to create a safe environment for exploring, trying new things and implementing theories into tangible actions.

We did some guided meditations during the workshop, one participant shared this experience with the rest of the group:

“ During the meditation, I realized some small resentments that I was holding within with the people close to me. I was not aware of this. It felt good to become aware of these little blocks and let them go”.

We are trained to understand data and logic in the world of business, it is needed in the workspace. This helps us build our left brain and lead with our masculine energy in our careers (not male, masculine). Therefore, we skip trying mindfulness practices and do not give ourselves a chance to explore the many possibilities. During my workshops, I always make time for encouraging personal experiences. You will never know whether or not it works if you do not first try it.

Another participant mentioned, “I was very skeptical about this workshop, however, it made me realize things about myself and motivated me to start doing some small steps. Obviously, I am not going full force on the energy work, but I really enjoyed the practical tools that are in line with a scientific approach, I will definitely adopt some tools”.
