Turkey and Syria, we are thinking of you

I have been sharing my thoughts with you for almost 3 years now.

Each week, I write from my heart. It helps me to release my pain, some help me to share my excitement or joy. I have been adding tips, tools and stories on self-healing, mindfulness and personal development.

This week, I want to share something different. As you might know, a catastrophic earthquake recently happened in Turkey and Syria. The earthquake destroyed more than 10 cities and thousands of lives have been affected. Amidst winter conditions people are fighting for their life. The loss is massive...

I am deeply sad, and angry like most of the people who watched the news.

There is not much to say. I just want to share what I am reflecting on this week.

There are more good-hearted people in this world than we realize

I have been witnessing massive support and solidarity. Most people are trying to help the ones in need. Most people do not care about race or religion, they see a catastrophic event and instantly want to help in their own way. Some people support through sharing and creating awareness, others through donations and some of them support through prayers. All are needed in these heavy times.
I want to thank everyone in this community, who has shared their support and prayers. I read all the emails. Thank you from my heart 💖

It is time to focus on “what we can do” rather than on judging others

I have observed some judgments on how people should grieve and help. I have some clients who donated generously but are being judged because they don’t post on social media. Please remember, some people will judge you no matter what you do. If you share, they will judge you for ‘using the situation’. If you don’t share, they will judge your silence. People judge all the time, so don’t worry.

Everyone is assessing the situation in their own style, we just need to focus on ourselves and what we can do and let others do what they want to do.

People lost their lives 'just like that'

A tragedy like this reminds us to hold our loved ones close, say “I love you” and let small resentments go. If you didn’t say how much you love them, pause here and say it now.

It also reminds us that life is short, we can choose to own our truth and try to live fully. If you are postponing your dreams, I hope 2023 marks your start.

One last thing, this reminds us to be grateful for what we have. If you didn’t practice any gratitude today, just close your eyes and send your gratitude forward.
